The aim of IGLO is to promote cross-linguistic comprehension among the selected Germanic languages: English, German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Icelandic. The product envisioned would be simple enough for any adult learner (who already commands one of the seven languages) to use independently, without instruction, yet flexible enough to contain the type of detailed comparative information that would be of interest to a philologist.
